Health Care Business Law.

We provide legal representation to health care industry clients, including physicians, clinics, licensed health care professionals, other providers, and consumer health businesses, in a broad array of legal matters.

We have unrivaled experience in the health care industry. While serving as Minnesota Attorneys General, Lori Swanson and Mike Hatch were involved with numerous health care enforcement actions. They provided legal representation to the Minnesota Departments of Health, Commerce, and Human Services and the health occupation professional licensing boards. They oversaw the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, which is responsible to bring cases to recover overbillings of the Medical Assistance program. They also regulated nonprofit and charitable organizations.  We draw on our many years of government regulatory experience to advise health care clients on compliance matters.

Lori Swanson was named one of 20 attorneys making a difference in health care in 2012.  Unlike most lawyers, Ms. Swanson and Mr. Hatch have also been busy executives. They understand the operational needs of clients.  We focus on pragmatic, creative, timely, and cost-efficient solutions.

Health care regulations have gotten more complex—and the financial and reputational consequences for violations more severe. We help clients comply with the laws and stay out of the line of sight of regulators. We also help clients respond to pressing compliance challenges brought on by changing regulatory landscapes, organizational growth, and competitor, customer, and insider complaints.

We represent health industry clients in regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters involving a wide array of matter that include:
