Insurance Business Law.
Legal Representation of insurance companies and insurance producers and brokers in regulatory, compliance, and business matters.
We represent insurance industry clients on a broad array of legal matters.
We have extensive legal experience in the insurance industry. While serving as Minnesota Attorneys General, Lori Swanson and Mike Hatch provided legal representation to the Minnesota Department of Commerce, which regulates the insurance industry in Minnesota. They brought lawsuits involving the insurance industry. Mr. Hatch also served as Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Commerce for eight years, where he was a hands-on regulator of the industry, and has previously served on the boards of directors of several insurance companies.
Insurance regulations are complex—and not always clear. The financial and reputational harm from violations can be harsh. We can help clients stay in compliance with the insurance laws, off the front page of the newspaper, and out of trouble. We also help clients respond to pressing compliance challenges brought about by changing regulatory landscapes, organizational growth, and competitor, customer, or insider complaints.
Unlike most lawyers, Ms. Swanson and Mr. Hatch have also been busy executives. They understand the operational needs of clients. We focus on pragmatic, creative, timely, and cost-efficient solutions.
We represent insurance industry clients in a wide number of business regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters that include:
